I use the Italian language as OS because of the grammar correction and I have installed Pcadd8 that use the same language as the OS.

I prefer to have PowerCadd running in English: can I do something? Should I use English as OS language and switch the spelling just for the Italian?

Also, in Italian I wasn't able to install the update 8.0.1

Thanks

Sorry I am not able to help you on the language issue, but I am curious about your mention of an 8.0.1 update to PC.

When I check for updates within PC it says I am up to date with v8.0.0, and the Downloads button is dead on the EngSW site (also PC v8 is next to invisible on their site!).

Where did you hear about an 8.0.1 update?

Thanks for the response.

By the way, my only experience in setting up applications to run in other languages is when I tried doing so for my wife, who would prefer the OS in French. However, she eventually went back to running all in English, as some applications ended up with half their menus and dialogue boxes in French and half remaining in English!

Probably better to just set up the spellcheck in Italian.

Greg,

so if I keep the OS in English, and I'd prefer to have it, can I switch the spell check in Italian as I write almast all in this language? If yes, how?

Thanks

Giulio

Giulio,

For all the Apple applications, I believe it is done the same way:

Under "Edit" choose "Spelling and Grammar". When the dialogue box comes up, you should have a pull down menu to select the language (see attachment). I know this works in Safari, Mail, Keynote – I haven't checked them all. In Pages, it is slightly different in that it automatically uses the language you have set for your entire document rather than having a pull down menu.

In non-Apple applications like Word for example, the language used for the spellcheck usually depends on the language you have set under Tools > Language. Note that in Word you can actually set the language to be different for different parts of the document, one paragraph in English, one in Italian.

Hope that helps,

Greg
