Don't worry dj, if we save lumber on the average house that means we will have more available for the special structures. I would really like to see more of the art of timber framing come back, particularly in public spaces. _________________ Chris Stewart

You are sounding like a timberframer Chris. Welcome aboard! I knew you were there for some time.

I bet the Guild could raise a frame in a day in front of the White House. Others would bet it would take less time. How's that for a public space?
Show folks what green materials are all about, lots of folks.
A million carpenters march on D.C? We could do it with ten and a couple of gin poles. Would George Bush be the architect of this?
Eat your greens

Heck, you could invite Al Gore there to speak. Or Peter Ward. Or the smart folks at MIT, to teach everyone what is a green building material? I want to know that answer too. Maybe George Bush wants to know the answer too. And then we could all jam out to Aerosmith or something like that. And serve beer. It could be fun during this interesting campaign we are having in the states.
Bamboo and an old sail might be a green building material, but who know for sure?
