Someone knows if it's interesting to uprade the graphic card (ATI RADON 9000 PRO - AGB - VRAM 64Mo) on my G4 1,25.
And in case, what material should be used ?
I'm looking for speed increase, mainly with powercadd 7 and sketchup.

I have no specifics about PowerCADD but for video editing and/or photoshop, most folks who have done a side by side real world usage comparison say a current MacBook with a load of ram is as fast and in many cases much faster than a G5. And G5s or noticeably faster than G4s.
I'd consider buying a new (or almost new) computer before tossing much money into a G4. Especially now that a MacBook supports a decent amount of video ram and a 2nd independent display.
Just my opinion.

Thank you David,
After looking here and there, asking for video cards prices, I arrived at the same conclusions.
So, for the moment, I left my G5 to the person who works with that heavy sketchup file (and I find incredibly slow working on the G4!) |
