I know when continuing users connect, read, and post, they aren't likely to stop and re-read the forum descriptions every time. So I'd like to call to our collective attention the current description for this forum:

Quote:
Fireside Forum. This forum is for friendly discussion among DesignCommunity members on weather, sports, politics, fishing, and those other parts of life that don't fit into the topic-specific DesCom discussions.

There's exactly one word in there which has been changed recently to try to help move the forum a little closer to its intended goals.

Can you tell which word?

If you can tell which word changed, do you like the change?

If you like the word change, do you think it will make any difference in the forum?

Or what?

Smile

Is Kevin "fishing" for compliments? If so (or if not), let's stop to thank him for a job well done.

While we're discussing the discussions, what are the parameters of correct posting behavior, when it comes to transcribing copyrighted material found on other sites (news organizations, political committees, etc)? I have taken to pasting editorials or news stories into the forum, usually including the source and any bylines and other credits. Is this proper? Is it legal? I certainly don't want to endanger the reputation of DC.com or expose it -- or myself -- to unnecessary hazard.

I have found this is a more reliable way of passing on interesting information I find, as some of the material found cannot be accessed by those not already subscribed to sites I provide links to -- or such material sooner or later is removed from those sites, rendering the archival use of such links on these threads, useless.

Tilapia...............does anyone really know where or how to catch this fish...Tilapia?

Global poverty.............which country is in the most debt?

Global warming.............who else is enjoying those 80 degree temps in early August?

Palmero on steroids....is anyone surprised about this?

Other Topics not in the norm of everyday life..............a "fair tax" for those who are tired of the irs tax system. Can we handle this as the new norm of our everyday life style?............I prefer Tilapia.
