Has anyone heard of XYZ as a file format? It's intended for mapping appllications, I think? Possibly from The XYZ Digital Map Company?
http://www.xyzmaps.com/dxf.html
Do we have any means of exporting to this format? _________________ Rob

| That link says that they read dxf files. PowerCADD can export/import dxf - although the files get pretty huge. |

There's a utility around called Dxf2xyz, but it's a windows application.
I've just never heard of this type file before. _________________ Rob

XYZ file is a text file containing the X, Y and Z spatial point coordinate and also as option the point name and point description.
This file usually derive from a survey using a total station.
In my external Topography Tools I can read and save this type of data for do topographic drawings.
You can take a look at www.iparos.it
Also there is WildTools TopoTools that can handle this survey point after imported in a PowerCADD drawing. |

Thanks. I figured it was mostly about topography. _________________ Rob
