i just got out of a AIA COTE (committee on the environment) presentation and meeting and the topic was upcoming Zero Net energy requirements based on measuring the carbon use of buildings. ASHRAE USGBC IESNA 189 high performance green building standard. CO2e annual carbon dioxide equivalent compliance test.
Europe has already set standards in all 37 countries this year of 2007.
having lived in zero-net energy homes off grid and thinking about how to apply this to a grid tie situation with credits and how the carbon trading system will work is very interesting.
what are your thoughts, applications of buildings beyond LEED, etc.? _________________ The most necessary/useful piece of learning is that which unlearns what is untrue: 'evil'
