Hi there, i am new here and found this forum as i was searching for a community for housedesign. We are building house in Thailand and are close to the finish...so far very happy but one thing that looks weird to me is the housewall on the left side of the picture ....there is not much space in front of that wall and windows are forbidden as per law... what i am seeking for is ideas to make this empty space look better.....
thank you very much for the replies,
maijai

Could you make a false window, using some of the decorative edging you have used around the house? make a 'window frame' with the edging and paint the 'panes' with black paint.

You see false windows occasionally on old houses here in the UK because, for a short period around 200 years ago, houses were taxed according to the number of windows!

Hi lekizz, thank you for your response, much apprechiated.

False window is a nice idea another idea was false glasblock mosaic....i have one real glasblockmosaic on the other side (my office) which has the frame around too .... when i tell Wifey, son & builder these thoughts (fake window or glassbocks) they look at me as i am an alien Evil or Very Mad need help to get back my earthling status Rolling Eyes
I need to find a good picture of a flase window to show them...maybe convince them:-) anybody has anything like that?
Thankyou ,
maijai

Like I say, all of my examples of false windows are over 200 years old, so I'm not sure how useful they would be.

Another option would be simply to compose a large rectangle, on the face of the first floor level, using your edging strip. Considering you have chosen to use that decorative 'dado' band around your house, IMO it would not look innappropriate to use the edging elsewhere too.
