| hi all, I've been working mainly on autocad for some time now but have recently had archicad9 and 10 thrust upon me. i really don't been it is a system that allows one to learn organically as nothing were you naturally might expect it to be. i've found that spending hours alone attempting to teach myself it, leads nowhere. Any thoughts. help or recommended manuals? thanks. J

Archicad 10 comes with a very useful manual..
Its was pretty good for me.Only took me 3 weeks 2 master it.Only for 3d.For 2d stick 2 autocad..
If ur not happy with d renderings u can take it 2 max n render,,
Other wise conventional architecture is fine in Archicad.
If ur dzine's complex try Max or Maya..

James,
You can find some useful ArchiCAD books here:

Both the ArchiCAD Training Guide (includes CD) and the Virtual Tutor DVD are great tools for getting started.

I don't think Microstation is a better choice, and Autocad is one of the most complex monsters to learn. Better stick to the other advice given.
If usen correctly, Archicad can work fine for 2D also, so this is ill founded advice as well.

| One could almost say that, if it were pertinent to the embodiment of the idea of form in relation to the knowledge of ideas.
