Is the BBC another "liberal media" outlet?

Those are some powerful and sad and shocking and beautiful posts. Thanks guys!

| NPR in one ear... that hearing today on the abuse of steroids in baseball... - with no offense to sporting entertainment, it's just the contrast -... just seems so very central. |

And, the news that seismologists report that one tsunami-triggering event is not unlikely to trigger another, in the general region.
I say we're experiencing -- quietly, oh so calmly-- our own sort of tsunami; it originated in Washington, DC and Arlington, VA. And it ain't over yet. The water is just starting to recede. . .
I wonder why Hunter S Thompson wanted to miss the fireworks. . .?

what makes you think that the water is receding ? _________________ Richard Haut has worked with the architectural profession for over 25 years and produces the weekly Richard Haut's Competitions, which has given architects details of many thousands of projects for which they can apply across Britain and Europe. |

By that, I mean that some signs exist of a potential disaster, either relatively sudden or more protracted, for the American economy (the warning signs of a faltering level of vitally-important international investment in American securities), some foreign national economies ( the declining worker population of Japan, combined with an historic and presently burgeoning xenophobia, that bode ill for their growing guest-worker needs, potentially impacting the future welfare of the Japanese economy and society, as discussed yesterday on the BBC World News), and the world ecology (fished-out ocean food resources, ozone depletion, etc etc).
We recall that some few of the tsunami victims were sufficiently aware of their history to take the receding waters as a sign to be heeded, while most were not, and did nothing.

or as Warren Buffett put it: what is needed is a return to common sense.
sadly neither Bolton at the UN nor Wolfowitz at the World Bank indicate that that is likely in the near future.
much more entertaining (in case it wasnt reported in the US) is that the US envoy was summoned by the Kuwaiti Government. The US troops have been filling their many vehicles with Kuwaiti petrol for a couple of years without paying anything and the Kuwaitis - reasonably - said that they might like to pay up. This got a classic Neo-Con response from Rumsfeld who insulted the Kuwaitis. Result - the envoy is hauled up before the Government.
I do not know too much about the background of the rather creepy Neo-Con gang, but I have the sneaking feeling that they are not especially bright. _________________ Richard Haut has worked with the architectural profession for over 25 years and produces the weekly Richard Haut's Competitions, which has given architects details of many thousands of projects for which they can apply across Britain and Europe. |

I'll see if I can get some reference to that appalling group; conservative commentator William Kristol's father was there at the beginning, as I recall. . .
The Kuwaiti-fuel-flap hasn't been covered here, yet.
