You might get a better response if you ask which architect's are considered post modern. A beginning list might include: Robert Stern, Robert Venturi (he would argue differently), Stanley Tigerman...

postmodernism, as to what ive read, is architecture that practically uses contemporary art styles while still holding on to some earlier architectual characteristics.
it came about when, back in the mid century, the modernistic views were being somewhat rejected by many people. this is where the term arose and was applied to many of the architects who opposed these new contemporary ideas but recognized the need for furthure modernism becuase of growing office demand. this idea is still being widely utilized, even today.
i dont think that this style makes use of any special materials other than ones allready commonly used, though i must say that it does make particular use of glass and stone facade to emphasize both past and future architecture.

notice how the first picture is reminiscent of notre dame
and the next one, with the stone detail, has a touch of class found
primarally in the early 19th century.

but both definitly have many modernistic qualities[/url]
