Instead of one straight run of steps, down to grade, you might try coming down from the deck about 1/2 way to a platform [must be same width as the stairs] and then turning 180-degrees, and installig a second flight of stairs to grade [would exit in the direction of the auto in the picture.
Might also use a different tye of railing baluster to make the railing lighter in appearance [and different from the very closed look of the deck].
